Tutor Resource Portal

Announcements

  • As a reminder, Tutor In-Service Professional Development is scheduled for Monday, November 23, from 9:00am to 3:30pm.  Be sure to mark your calendars!
    • Be sure to have a way to retrieve your latest observation debrief.  You will reference it during our training.
  • Student Supervision Reminder: For student safety and liability reasons, tutors should never be left solely responsible for supervising students without an authorized campus staff member present. If this situation arises, communicate with the teacher or campus administration to ensure appropriate supervision is in place.
  • DDT Mastery Check Reminder: N/A should be used sparingly and only when there is no lesson objective to assess, such as during a test review. Students should have an opportunity to demonstrate mastery independently in nearly all lessons. Remember, objective aligned problems from Independent Practice can serve as a mastery check, even when plans change.

            • TEACH for Houston Coaching Call: If you’ve signed up for a 1:1 coaching call to learn more about becoming a teacher, be sure to add it to your calendar and attend! You will be paid for the 30-minute call if completed before December 11. Haven’t signed up? Visit TEACH for Houston, log in or create an account, and select “Register for a 1-on-1 Session” from your dashboard.

                Announcements

                  • End of Semester Stakeholder Thank You Letters – iEducate highly encourages you to thank coordinators and partner teachers for the support they have provided you over the course of the semester.  To support you in this, a Thank You Letter Template can be found here.  Feel free to use it or adapt it as a no-cost way of showing coordinators and partner teachers your appreciation.  Please also remember that per our Tutor Handbook, tutors are not allowed to give individual students gifts.
                  • End of Semester Make Up Shift Opportunity: – Tutors that are interested in signing up for additional shifts will have the opportunity to do that in the final month of the semester.
                  • Prioritized Student Changes –  This week is the last week of the  STAAR testing window.  As a result, if prioritized students were changed during the last several weeks, all tutors should go back to working with the prioritized students they were assigned before STAAR practice and the STAAR testing window. After testing, reach out via your cohort account if you are not working with the prioritized students assigned to you prior to STAAR testing prep.
                  • Cohort Session Attendance and Engagement (Reminders):
                    • Attendance reminder: Cohort sessions are mandatory professional development sessions.  All tutors must attend cohort sessions.  If – for whatever reason – you cannot attend a cohort session, you are required to proactively alert iEducate via your cohort account.  Please make every effort to proactively alert iEducate as early as possible.  Tutors that have not proactively communicated an attendance concern and fail to attend the cohort session – or whose reason for the absence is not approved – will receive a write up.
                    • Engagement reminder: Tutors should plan to attend virtual cohort sessions in a location that is safe, free from distractions and allows you to actively engage in Pear Deck with your cameras on at all times.   If you do not have access to a computer with a camera, please proactively reach out to your cohort account to alert staff.
                • Clock Out Procedure (Reminder): Tutors have been doing a phenomenal job clocking into their shifts on time. Please double down on your responsibility to clock out on time as well.  Tutors should plan to wrap up their work and clock out by the end of their scheduled shift.  If a coordinator or partner teacher asks you to stay after your shift, ask them to reach out to the iEducate Senior Manager assigned to their school to discuss.
                • Voluntary TEACH for Houston Future Teacher Support Next Steps (Reminder):
